Los clubes más exitosos hasta entonces encabezaron la tabla al final de la temporada 1894/95. El tres veces campeón Sunderland, en el que había que buscar con lupa la presencia de jugadores ingleses, ganó la Liga inglesa. Era prácticamente un equipo escocés que se proclamó campeón inglés derrotando a los ”Toffeemen”, cuyo rival local el Liverpool FC bajaría de nuevo a Segunda División al cabo de una temporada. El medio centro ”Andy” McCreadie, que fichó por el Glasgow Rangers poco antes del comienzo de la temporada, era realmente una dinamita humana, tenía un juego muy ofensivo y también olfato goleador. Tanto el medio izquierdo ”Harry” Johnston como el lateral izquierdo ”Bobby” McNeil habían llegado del Clyde Glasgow. Fue otro gran año para los escoceses, que ganaron las dos ligas más fuertes, aportaron los máximos goleadores tanto en Inglaterra como en Escocia, y también tuvieron participación en la obtención del título de campeón de Liga en Argentina
