Ya en la primera ronda se vio el choque de titanes entre el Queen's Park y el Glasgow Celtic (2:1). En la tercera ronda, el Vale of Leven eliminó al Glasgow Rangers. Ambos vencedores llegaron a la final, que se jugó bajo nieve y hielo. Exceptuando sus dos porteros, ambos conjuntos alinearon unos onces prácticamente nuevos, y consecuentemente poco experimentados. El partido terminó en un empate justo, haciéndose necesaria una repetición del mismo, en la que el equipo de Dunbartonshire contó con “Archie” Osborn, que poco después se marcharía al Notts County inglés. Su equipo se puso por delante por mediación de Daniel Bruce (20.10.1870-6.2.1931), que también jugaría más tarde en el Notts County, aunque antes todavía lo haría en el Glasgow Rangers. James Hamilton logró el empate después de un saque de esquina, y un disparo desde 30 yardas del volante Allan Stewart dio la vuelta al partido, llevando de nuevo el trofeo a manos del Queen's Park.
